Full 2026 rankings, city guides, and red-flag checks: Business Cash Advance Settlement.

A company with no sales record cannot borrow against sales it has not yet made. The founder who counts an approval inside the opening budget has mistaken a conditional loan for committed capital, and the correction usually arrives after a supplier has been promised payment.

PayPal extends financing to businesses with established account activity, and the product selected decides the history required. The sections below distinguish the two principal products, compare their payment mechanics with the receipts a young company actually collects, and describe the file to assemble before applying. The decision belongs to the receipts already in the account, or to patience while the record matures.

Operating History and the PayPal Sales Record

Before any application, the owner should establish the age of the business and the location of its sales. A company preparing its first transaction stands apart from a company with six months of receipts and a short operating record, and the lender treats the two differently.

PayPal publishes minimum thresholds for each product, and the application should be read against them. Its Working Capital loan requires qualifying PayPal sales with at least ninety days of account history, while its Business Loan identifies a minimum of nine months in business with revenue eligibility. Neither product funds an idea before operations begin. The PayPal Working Capital terms state the sales and history conditions for that product in the lender own language.

Meeting a published minimum does not establish approval, since the provider weighs the application on standards of its own and current availability changes without notice to the founder. Rarely does a threshold operate as a promise. The opening plan should therefore carry no commitment that depends on money the lender has not yet agreed to supply.

Two Products Under One Brand Name

Confusion between the two products causes extremely costly mistakes, because each collects payment through a different channel on a different schedule. Working Capital collects a percentage of PayPal sales with a minimum repayment every ninety days and discloses a single fixed fee, while the Business Loan collects weekly payments from the bank account on a fixed term.

The qualification standards diverge as well. Working Capital advertises no personal credit check, the Business Loan describes personal and business credit checks, and the LoanBuilder fixed term descriptions present customized business loans whose agreement identifies the lender. WebBank appears as lender behind the PayPal products, though the signed agreement controls the obligation in every case.

The owner should keep the offer, the fee disclosure, and the final agreement in one folder. The folder should show the lender name, the total repayment, and the collection method. These papers decide the obligation.

A familiar checkout button teaches nothing about a financing agreement. The brand that processes customer payments with reassuring speed can collect its own receivables with the same efficiency, and the founder should read the second relationship with colder eyes than the first.

A lender that requires ninety days of history will still be there in ninety days.

Most founders apply before the record is ready. The impatience is understandable.

Two details deserve confirmation before the owner relies on any summary. The current Working Capital page excludes North Dakota and South Dakota, and the absence of a prepayment fee does not establish any refund of the fixed fee. An adviser should ensure the comparison states the total repayment with usable proceeds, or the owner has not yet finished reading.

Payment Mechanics Against Actual Receipts

Measure each schedule against money already received rather than sales projected for next quarter. A customer may agree to buy while payment arrives after the loan collection date, and expenses for inventory and initial orders reduce the balance available for repayment before the first debit posts.

Revenue that arrives through other processors or direct invoices sits outside a percentage collection tied to PayPal activity. Simply keep the comparison on a single page with deposit dates attached.

Credit Checks and the Obligations That Remain

After funding, the credit question changes from approval to reporting. The phrase no personal credit check concerns qualification, and it establishes nothing about reporting, personal undertakings, payment authorizations, or the remedies a lender may pursue against the company in order to recover an unpaid balance after default.

The agreement answers those questions, and questions the owner asks, or fails to ask, before signature shape the remedies available after default. Counsel can review and analyze provisions the owner does not understand, and ensure that notices requiring a legal response receive separate attention.

The fixed fee deserves attention beside the period over which collection occurs. It is a number the owner can compare, which is more than can be said for some of the other terms. Whether a court would characterize a sales based loan of this kind as an MCA depends on governing law and the full agreement, a question this article leaves to counsel.

Resist the urge to read platform familiarity as contractual safety. Any statement about the account, even casually, can affect later discussion, so the owner should route questions through the application process. The file described earlier in this article now earns its keep.

Existing Advances and the Settlement Alternative

Delancey Street offers a free confidential initial review for owners facing MCA debt concerns, and that review can assess an existing advance before the company assumes another financing commitment. The company provides debt settlement services and coordinates legal matters with independently licensed counsel. It is not a law firm, and eligibility for its services should be confirmed for each account.

New funds that cover old withdrawals without retiring the old contracts increase the total obligation. The new loan can improve cash flow. It can also deepen the debt.

A young business needs capital suited to the activity it has established rather than the activity it forecasts. I am less certain about the right sequence for companies whose ledgers show losses beneath the financing question. The most useful decision may be to proceed, to wait while the sales record matures, or to address an existing obligation first, and patience in this setting is an extremely valuable commercial position rather than a concession.

FAQ

How much can debt settlement save?
Typical settlements range from 30–60 cents on the dollar, depending on the funder, contract terms, and legal leverage available.
Can I settle if a COJ has been filed?
Yes — but you need legal intervention, not just negotiation. Attorney-coordinated firms can file motions to vacate and stay enforcement.
How long does debt settlement take?
Specialized firms typically resolve cases in 2–6 months — much faster than general debt settlement programs.
Will it affect my credit score?
MCA debt is generally not reported to consumer credit bureaus, so settlement typically doesn't impact your personal credit.
